Crystals of Suzaku
Type Two - Murderous Intent
Manami glared at Nine as he continued to smirk arrogantly. Already in her new class, she had made an enemy, not that she wanted one. There were a couple other Class Zero students that didn't like her either, for whatever reason. Sice glared at her for most of the lesson. She could tell that King and Seven aren't too fond of her. Even Machina and Queen gave her suspicious looks! Manami could have sworn both Trey and Cinque whispered something nothing negative about her. In fact, the only people she could freely talk to are Ace, Deuce, Eight, Jack, and Rem. Manami stood up and went out of the classroom, not caring about the students. She went up to the roof and stared at the sky, forgetting about the students of Class Zero. Back at the classroom, however:
"Why are you so mean to her Nine?" Ace frowned, "She's actually really nice to talk to."
"Why would you talk to a Class Thirteen student?" Nine raised an eyebrow, "She's part of the unlucky class."
"But she's really nice!" Deuce frowned, not liking the fact that Nine is insulted her new idol.
"Deuce, you are way too trusting," Trey told the girl, "For all we know, she could be planning to overthrow Class Zero."
Cinque nodded in agreement, "She seems like the snobby type anyways."
"She's not," Eight spoke up, "I'm pretty sure if you gave her the chance, you will have fun talking with her."
"What we shouldn't do is trust her," Queen adjusted her glasses, "Everyone knows the background of Class Thirteen right? Be on close guard and keep an eye on Manami."
Ace frowned when he heard this. He then proceeded to leave the classroom and look around for Manami's friends in Class Thirteen. He wanted to prove to Class Zero that Manami was not who they all thought her to be. He noticed the tomboy, Miharu, in the distance and called out to her.
"You? What do you want?" Miharu frowned when Ace approached.
"I'm sorry for this, but I need to know more about Manami. You see, some of the students in Class Zero hate her for whatever reason and I want you to help me prove to them that she isn't like that." Ace explained.
"So they hate my friend huh?" Miharu narrowed her eyes, "Why do they hate her? She is naturally hard working, not to mention a prodigy."
"I have no idea. What is Manami like? She is so quiet in Class Zero." Ace said.
"Nami is quiet, but also kind and friendly. She may seem cold and may act like it, but that's only because she refuses for people to take advantage of her. Like her father did to her mother. For that, she acts cold to everyone. But she's not like that and she won't be friends with people who don't like her. She won't let that get the best of her." Miharu explained.
"I see. Thank you for that Miharu." Ace bowed his head, before heading off.
He let out a sigh, "I knew Manami wasn't what the others thought of her. She's was pretty nice to me."

Rem and Machina walked alongside eachother, talking as they head up towards the rooftop. They got to the top and their eyes widened when they saw Manami, asleep on the floor. Machina narrowed his eyes.
"Rem, let's go somewhere else." He said to the girl, who blinked.
"But shouldn't we wake up Manami?" She asked him.
"Why should we bother ourselves with a Class Thirteen rebel? You know how they are don't you Rem?" Machina asked the girl with narrowed eyes.
"You haven't gotten to know her Machina!" Rem frowned, "Don't judge a person cause of what class they are in!"
Unbeknownst to them, Manami was awake and she slowly sat up, "So that's what you really think of me Machina?"
Both Machina and Rem frozed and turned to Manami, who was up on her feet, but her back was towards them. Rem whimpered lightly hearing the coldness in her tone.
"Have you ever considered why I was even put into Class Zero? If I were such a rebel then why would Khalia sir put me into the legendary Class Zero? If anything, I don't even want to be put in a class with people who think they are so much better than others." Manami slowly turned her head to glare at Machina.
She then sighed, "I've had enough. I'm leaving Class Zero."
With that, she walked past the two students and made her way to the faculty office. Rem frowned at Machina.
"You see? You just hurt her feelings!" She scolded.
"Rem," Machina sighed, "I don't trust her. She just looks untrustworthy."
"But if you judge people by how they look, then you'll never know the true them." Rem said.
As soon as Rem said that, they head a loud bang and a yelp from Manami. Rem looked startled and even Machina jumped. They looked at eachother, before making their way down to the hallways. When they made it there, their eyes widened to see most of the hallway covered in blood and the blood belonged to none other than Manami, who was unconcious on the floor. Upon closer inspection, the two could see a large wound on the side of her abdomen, caused by a spear of some sort.
"Manami!" Rem cried, running over to the dark haired brunette, not caring if she got some blood on her uniform.
Machina noticed the girl was completely covered in blood and knelt next to her to inspect the wound. His eyes narrowed when he realised that the wound was made by a spear that belonged to Nine. He knew that the dragoon held a grudge against Manami, but didn't think he'd go far to inflict a fatal wound on her.
"Machina, is that wound...?" Rem trailed off.
"Made by Nine's spear. Let's hurry up and take her to the infirmary. She's losing a lot of blood." Machina said, taking off his cape and wrapping it around her wound, before lifting her up and rushing over to the infirmary.
Rem follows after him closely. Some students have heard the noise and crowded around the hallway only to be shocked at the amount of blood splattered on school property. Ace was one of the few Class Zero students in the crowd.
"Machina! Rem!" He called out, running over to the two and noticed the unconcious and very much bloody Manami in Machina's arms, "W-What happened?"
"Not now Ace! We need to hurry and bring her to the infirmary!" Rem exclaimed.
Ace nodded, "Follow me! I know a shortcut!"
The trio quickly made their way over to the infirmary and Machina could feel the blood seeping through his cape and hurried. When they finally made their way to the infimary, Manami was immediately treated as the three stood outside.
"Wait? Nine's spear was what caused her wound?" Ace furrowed his eyebrows.
"No mistake to it. It was Nine's personal spear that caused her wound." Machina folded his arms.
"But why would he do such a thing? Students were told never to harm one another." Rem stated, clasping her hands together.
Ace sighed, "So...basically anyone from Class Zero who doesn't like her could be responsible. The most primary suspect is obviously Nine."
"..." Machina stayed silent as Rem looked at him with worry in her eyes.
A nurse opened the door and looked at the three, "Manami is well. She'll just need to rest due to blood loss."
"What a relief." Rem let out a sigh, relieved that Manami was still alive.
"However, this will not go unpunished. Those who are responsible for Miss Manami's injuries will be interrogated until the one responsible is found," The nurse said in a stern tone, before adding, "If you would like to see her, she is awake."
Ace immediately went into the room and Rem followed closely after him. Machina debated for awhile, before making his way into the room as well. One look at Manami made his heart drop at how vulnerable, weak and pale she looked, compared to her more healthy appearance.
"How are you feeling Manami?" Ace asked the girl, who smiled weakly at him.
"Tired, but I should be fine." Manami answered in a soft tone.
She then turned her head to Machina, "And sorry for getting blood onto your cape."
Machina watched as she motioned towards his bloodied cape but that was the least of his worries right now. He sighed.
"Do you know who did this to you?" He asked, folding his arms.
"No. The person was too fast for me to react," Manami closed her eyes, "I let my guard down."
"It's alright Manami! You're still alive! That's all that counts." Rem said.
"Yeah...I guess that disappoints some people though." Manami said and Machina knew she was referring to those of Class Zero who didn't like her, himself included.
At this point, the rapier wielder started to take back what he thought of her. He knew she didn't deserve to be attacked like this, but why did he feel uncomfortable to be here? Machina sighed.
"Look...about what I said earlier...I'm sorry. I guess I judged you because I thought you were one of those who cared for no one but themselves." He mumbled.
Manami's eyes widened slightly, before allowing a smile to appear on her face, "I forgive you Machina. Although, I still want to leave Class Zero."
"Eh? Why!?" Ace exclaimed.
"I don't belong in Class Zero. I will never be one of you." Manami mumbled, but the three could still hear it.
"But that's not true! Don't leave Class Zero!" Rem exclaimed.
"And she won't, because I won't allow her to."
The four turned to the new voice to see Kurasame at the door. He looked less than pleased.
"Kurasame!" Ace exclaimed as the instructor made his way over to Manami's bed.
"You three go back to class. I want to speak with Manami alone." Kurasame dismissed the three, who reluctantly went back to class.
Kurasame then turned to Manami, "You want to leave Class Zero because you can't stand the students judging you am I correct?"
"That is true, but also because I know that I don't belong in Class Zero," Manami stayed silent, "Do you know how much the judging reminds me of my father?"
"You resent your father because he has destroyed your life. That is why you can't stand the students of Class Zero, because their prejudice on you reminds you of your father when others compare you to him," Kurasame explained, "Yes, Khalia had told me."
"But," Manami perked up when she heard this, "You must also learn not to allow judgement to get the best of you, especially since you have trained to become one of the five paladins that run in your blood. Think about it and then make your decision."
